Sample Starters Include: Spiced parsnip soup with vanilla honey – Game terrine with Madeira jelly and spiced pineapple chutney – Carpaccio of venison with pickled mushrooms – Lobster ravioli with brandy and truffle sauce – Pan- roast local scallops, Umbrian lentils, bacon and cauliflower pakora.
Sample Main Courses Include: Fillet of 28 days Dry Aged beef – Confit Belly of Pork – Pan Roasted Duck Breast – Pan Roast Local Fillet of Sea Bass – Wild mushroom & goat’s cheese pithivier. Sample Desserts include: Chocolate Tart – Lemon Cheesecake – Blackcurrant Sorbet – Bread and Butter Pudding.

My partner and I visited Drakes on a busy Saturday evening, having not reserved a table. They were very accommodating and, luckily for us, a couple did not show and after a cheeky cocktail in the bar, we were seated. The food and wine followed and it was marvellous. Probably the most expensive meal we have had in Brighton, but almost certainly the best too.
